Serving up a solid introduction to the art of watercolor painting, Watercolor Basics features artist Tina Cintron guiding viewers through the creation of a landscape scene, offering techniques and tips as she goes along. Most of the production has an off-the-cuff feel (“hmmm, let's see, how about a rock?”) and lacks the chapter separations common in a more structured format. Still, Cintron effectively explains how watercolor differs from other mediums, covers the necessary tools, and provides clear and professional (if unscripted) instruction, with the camera perfectly positioned over her shoulder. Well-suited for beginners, this is recommended for those collections without similar fare. A companion volume, Experimental Watercolor, is also available at the same price. Aud: H, C, P. (J. Asala)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
