Once again, packaging aside (see Fundamentals of Cheerleading above), this is a fine introduction to the sport of water-skiing. Using extensive slow motion and replay techniques, the filmmakers cover a variety of different starts and landings, crossing the wake, and slalom skiing. In addition, they discuss hand signals, driving the boat, and necessary ski equipment. There's even a buffoon to show viewers the wrong way to do each move. (One reservation: although the program is safety-conscious, we really wonder about the advisability of showing a beginning skier how to do a standing-on-the-dock start). Recommended. (Available from Norstar, for $20.96).

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
