The biggest difference between a web resume and a traditional resume, of course, is that with a traditional resume, the manager of a local Arby's is going to have a fair idea of what you have (or haven't) contributed to the advancement of humankind to date, while with a web resume, millions of people (including, perhaps, your current boss) could have access to your life story, so far. In addition to privacy issues, Web Resumes looks at the differences between chronological and functional resumes, submitting video resumes, and tips for filling out online forms at career hubs (providing a brief list of the most popular). Unfortunately, the show is almost entirely talking head, very repetitious (we don't really need to be told about a dozen times that the Internet is an important component in the job search), and features some baffling web screen shots (what's the use of looking at a bunch of company profile pages?) Tighter organization, judicious editing and better planned visuals would have helped make this a more focused and therefore more effective effort. Very optional. Cambridge Educational's own Connect on the Net: Finding a Job on the Internet (VL-1/96) was a much better production, though it's now far too old to consider for purchase. Aud: H, C, P. (R. Pitman)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
