How many weddings are remembered not for the bride and groom, but for the flower girl who walked down the aisle with a finger up her nose, or the ring bearer who ground the processional to a halt by erupting in hysterics halfway to the altar? Wedding Kids is a good overview of what children in a wedding party can expect. While taped in a Catholic church, the guidelines offered are for generic Christian weddings, including a brief nod to Jewish ceremonies. Children will learn the basic vocabulary for the Big Day (including the VERY basic concepts of "bride" and "groom"), the basic layout of a place of worship, and--the paramount concern--how to walk down the aisle. The importance of at-home rehearsals is emphasized, with parents encouraged to make the wedding day something the child eagerly anticipates. In fact, the comprehensive "for parents" section of the tape may offer the most crucial help for getting the couple hitched without a hitch (even if it doesn't warn against nostril-mining). Despite credits which are actually ads for the dressmakers, florists, etc., this unusual and useful program is highly recommended. Aud: P. (R. Reagan)
