Christine Stefano is a juggler, ventriloquist and motivator whose desire to teach children to think positively and believe in themselves is well intentioned and commendable. Stefano and her puppet Alice discuss what self esteem is, and talk about the differences between high and low self esteem, as well as the power of thinking positive. Watching Stefano's act, viewers will learn that it's O.K. to mess up (just stay positive and try again), to set small goals and not to be afraid to learn something different. Unfortunately, this kind of positive peptalk would work much better in a school setting or library program where children could see Stefano up close and personal, while she talks with her puppets or performs her juggling act. The video medium (and a rather amateur production to boot) just doesn't capture the energy and sincerity Stefano obviously has for her subject. A very optional purchase. Aud. E, I. (N. Plympton)

As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
