As kids grow older, the line between reality and make-believe becomes more defined, making a solid understanding of honesty and its importance absolutely necessary. Unfortunately, grown-ups--even ones in leadership--don't always model this trait well. Using well-acted, strongly scripted realistic scenarios, this program explores the topics of lying, cheating, stealing, and the truth, while defining honesty, showing the potential consequences of dishonesty, looking at gray areas, and more. Between each open-ended vignette, an adolescent narrator poses discussion questions. Each problem is far from simple, and involves balancing loyalty to friends in some way, which is especially appropriate for school-aged children. Characters are a variety of ages and ethnicities, so they're easy for students to relate to, and the accompanying curriculum is an effective supplement and sure to provoke much discussion and self-evaluation. Highly recommended. Aud: E, I. (E. Gieschen)
