Wheat advocate and cookbook author Pam Crockett hosts Wheat Cookin' Made Easy, which goes beyond traditional bread-making to outline the benefits of wheat-heavy diets, while also featuring tips on topics ranging from processing wheat kernels to storage. Incorporating handy picture-in-picture text ingredients lists, Crockett makes “Whole Wheat Blender Pancakes,” savory “Chinese Fried Wheat,” and the 15-minute meal “Sloppy Joes” (for two other listed recipes—homemade brownies and snickerdoodles—no instruction is offered, just a clip of Crockett talking about the finished product). Also featuring a “Quick Pioneer Stew” segment from locally-produced Good Things Utah, the program concludes with Crockett (whose interest in wheat stems from a 10,000-lb purchase her husband made) talking about the evils of processed food while also stressing the importance of incorporating wheat into the family diet. A strong optional purchase. Aud: P. (J. Williams-Wood)
