This first title in a projected series of tapes on custom window treatment instructional videos, guides viewers through the making of pinch-pleat, French-pleat, and the ever popular rod-run custom drapes. Beginning with an overview of the materials necessary, viewers are shown how to install rods, figure yardage (with onscreen formulas), cut lengths, match pattern repeats, sew the hems, tabling (measuring and cutting for the finished length), finishing off the tops, and hanging and adjusting the finished drapes. With its nearly two-hour length, this is a thorough treatment of the subject-professionally done, utilizing good close-ups, and offering plenty of tips and techniques to aid the neophyte. A card listing needed supplies and common formulas is included with the program. Highly recommended. (Available from: DME Productions, Inc., P. O. Box 1624, Manchester, NH 03105.)
