As the Lilith Fair embarks on its final tour, CD players across the country are spinning the songs of Sarah McLachlan, Joan Osborne, Paula Cole, Melissa Etheridge and other female rock artists. Now, for $9.95, budding guitarists can pick along to four songs collected here: McLachlan's "Building a Mystery," Etheridge's "Come to My Window," Osborne's "One of Us" and Cole's "Where Have All the Cowboys Gone?" Instructor Magda Hiller is neither a great guitarist nor a particularly charismatic teacher, but she gets the job done, the songs are relatively easy to play, and the onscreen visuals of chord finger placement and changes help viewers follow along. In fact, I was just about ready to go grab my guitar and hold a little impromptu Lilith Fair in my own living room...but then I remembered I had a penis. Sure to be very popular to neophyte pickers (of both sexes, actually), this inexpensive "song express" guide is definitely recommended.
