When "Teri" questions the necessity of having writing skills in the real world, "Mr. Anderson," her high school English teacher, accompanies her to interview a lawyer, a doctor, a scientist, a corporation president, and an economist, to find out whether they have to do much writing. After this long, pointless, and rather unbelievable opening, "Mr. Anderson," who often tends to do "how-to" video dialogue as if it's Shakespeare, reveals the 10 steps to good writing to his class. From analyzing the reader and determining the purpose of the writing, to selecting a topic, organizing ideas, and finally proofreading and revising the final piece, Writing For Results offers a reasonable version of the basics of writing a written report. Junior high and high schools may find this useful, but due to the curriculum-based nature of the material, it's not really a good general video on writing for public libraries. An optional purchase.
