Yoga Booty Ballet Live

Yoga Booty Ballet Live is a two-disc set with a pair of workouts—“Light & Easy” and “Latin Flavor”—filmed live at L.A.'s fitness boutique SWERVE, co-owned by energetic tag-team instructors Gillian Marloth and Teigh McDonough. “Light & Easy” opens with a warm-up (of sorts) as exercisers sit on the floor rubbing their hands together to wake up sleeping chakras and create “psychic heat.” Gillian and Teigh no doubt possess really sparkly rainbow auras to go along with their nonstop high-energy “you-go-girlfriend” vocals to encourage each other and their crew through a series of floor routines and low-impact cardio dance moves—including a segment with a Yoga Booty Ballet “squishy ball” (not surprisingly, available online from the presenters). With what appears to be completely unintentional camp, the twosome also lead the charge in the second program, “Latin Flavor,” featuring same crew, same psychic heat, and a series of floor mat exercises to go along with Latin dance moves such as the samba and the meringue for burning off those nasty calories. Both programs are barebones (even sans menus) and each includes about 15 minutes of commercials for Beachbody.com, another L.A.-based company selling fitness accessories and weight-loss supplements.
