You Can Choose

Comic Michael Pritchard (whose recent program at the ALA conference was a major hit) is the host once again for these six new episodes in the winning You Can Choose! series (the first four were reviewed in our March, 1991 issue). Covering a wide range of topics, from building self-esteem in "Appreciating Yourself' to tough decisions in friendship in "Being Friends," each episode features a sketch illustrating a problem, followed by a question and answer period between Pritchard and a group of elementary school students, and concludes with the second half of the sketch, resolving the problem. The actors portraying the characters are wonderful, the stories are contemporary and in tune with today's young kids, and the productions sparkle with the combined energy of Pritchard, the actors, and the often hilarious kids. Besides the two programs mentioned above, the other four new titles are: "Doing The Right Thing," "Resolving Conflicts," "Asking For Help," and "Dealing With Disappointment." Grandly entertaining and exceptionally useful, the You Can Choose! series is highly recommended, and would be a major asset to any collection. Editor's Choice.
