Featuring both English and Spanish versions, Your Road to Passing the U.S. Citizenship Test is a straightforward production divided into three sections covering the basics of the U.S. Citizenship test: “American Government,” “American History,” and “Integrated Civics.” Twentysomething host Connie, who immigrated to the U.S. in 2002, asks 100 questions representative of those found on an actual naturalization test (which are selected at random). Filmed in minimal outdoor locations and backed by snippets of patriotic music, Connie recites questions-and-answers that are also presented as onscreen text (with occasional “all of the following are correct” cues and references to a correlating website for location-specific questions on local representatives, etc.). Covering topics ranging from democratic principles and colonial history, to national geography and symbols, this video-flashcard-like study guide is based on the resdesigned 2008 version of the U.S. Citizenship test. Highly recommended. Aud: P. (J. Williams-Wood)
