In this Swedish import, slacker writer Donny (Eric Ericson) encounters the fiery-haired Lova, who possesses a small box of Pandora-worthy importance. Together, the pair wind up traveling through time, where they fend off lethal assassins seeking the box, while Donny also finds himself being pursued by the police for a murder that he did not commit. Throughout the odyssey, Donny's main challenge is to decide whether he should open the box, as Lova insists, or give it to a mysterious man who keeps turning up to request the object. The writer-director team of Mans Marlind and Bjorn Stein (sharing screen credits as “Marlind/Stein”) serve up an engaging sci-fi adventure that is quite daring, technologically sophisticated, and sure to draw obvious comparisons to The Matrix trilogy (if Storm lacks the edgy, breathless energy of those now-classic flicks, at least leading man Ericson is far more animated and engaging than Keanu Reeves). A violent cerebral thriller that also offers an adrenaline-pumping high, this is recommended. (P. Hall)
