The latest installment in the solid Teen Safety series, When You Are Alone employs the same straightforward approach, as an empowering wise older sister/girlfriend-type host shares extremely practical advice as well as disturbing statistics. Viewers will learn about staying safe in a variety of situations, including being home alone, babysitting, driving, walking outside, or surfing online. While being aware of one's surroundings remains the best preventative course of action, the program also serves up vignettes featuring plenty of sensible safety tips in areas ranging from how to recognize potentially dangerous situations, to learning simple self-defense measures. Although geared towards female teens, much of the information presented here would be applicable to anyone in similar situations. Recommended. Aud: J, H, P. (E. Gieschen)
