Hoping to be the perfect stocking stuffer, this disc compiles three Christmas-themed episodes from the popular series, two featuring original host Bob Saget (from 1996 and 1997) and one with current host Tom Bergeron (from 2003). You can pretty much imagine what's in store: amateur-lensed footage of holiday madness and mayhem. There are the predictably embarrassing foul-ups by kids participating in school pageants, overzealous parents racing to complete holiday tasks requiring patience and care, and family pets that get underfoot (or under tree, as the case may be). There are the usual mishaps associated with hanging decorations, preparing big meals, and presenting gifts that provoke unexpected reactions. Of course, it's a never-ending marvel that people are actually willing to share these moments with millions of strangers, but we're glad they do, and while this program is unlikely to replace traditional Yuletide viewing such as A Christmas Carol (in its many iterations), it's a fun diversion during the holiday season. Recommended. Aud: P. (E. Hulse)
