Bridget's Sexiest Beaches: Season One

It's all about the scenery in Bridget's Sexiest Beaches, hosted by Bridget Marquardt and originally broadcast on the Travel Channel in 2009. Of course, the locations also look nice, as Marquardt, who was one of Hugh Hefner's girlfriends and starred in the popular reality TV show The Girls Next Door, bounces ‘round the world to places both predictable (Southern California, Hawaii, Cancun, the Caribbean) and somewhat off the beaten tourist track (Croatia, Morocco). Marquardt, sometimes accompanied by another Playmate pal, has spunk: she's willing to try nearly anything, from parasailing, hang gliding, and kite surfing to various non-beach activities like bobsledding through the Jamaican jungle, white-water rafting in Costa Rica, and playing with a python in Thailand. While the host is not exactly Rick Steves when it comes to travel expertise; some real information is provided, although the squealing, giggling, and insightful commentary (ranging from “Oh my gosh!” to “That was so cool!”—not to mention the almost constant use of “amazing,” “incredible,” and “awesome”) prove tiresome over the course of one 43-minute episode, let alone the dozen compiled here. As beautiful as these places are, many viewers will be mainly interested in the fetching outfits favored by Marquardt and friends, so anyone who doesn't care about all that boring travel stuff can jump straight to the bonus features—aptly titled “Bikini Blast” and “Turn-ons.” Optional.
