Derived from Japanese comics, Cat Planet Cuties finds voluptuous feline humanoid Eris from Catia arriving on Earth for a friendship mission. Some folks are scandalized that the first aliens to contact humanity happen to look like busty otaku-schoolboy fantasies, but soon Eris is living at Okinawa schoolboy Kio's house—designated the Catian Embassy. All of the clichéd nubiles Kio knows—the tomboy-next-door, a sexy teacher, a shy classmate—turn out to be undercover super-agents and alien-hunting assassins (and everyone has a crush on Kio, including Eris). Episodes generally revolve around “harem” comedy, but this is really little more than fan-service cheesecake. Compiling all 12 episodes from 2010 and an accompanying OVA in a dual-language set, rated TV-MA, extras include audio commentaries. Not a necessary purchase. (C. Cassady)
