Chris Rock's fourth HBO special is as focused, disciplined, and trenchant as his previous concert performances for the cable channel, though this time out he devotes more attention to speaking seriously about serious matters. But the comic monologues are characteristic gems, with topics ranging from recent fatherhood (Rock maintains that his biggest job is keeping his daughter off the stripper's pole) to a government conspiracy to ignore the murder of rappers ("More people saw Tupac get shot than watched the final episode of Seinfeld.") to Michael Jackson ("Ed Bradley tried his best to make Michael look like a mammal."). When Rock segues into the reasons why white America won't allow African-Americans to own real wealth, the proceedings become less entertaining, but also more thoughtful. Recommended. Aud: P. (T.
