Employing high-tech CGI graphics to enhance its real-life, semi-real-time crime stories, Crime 360 takes viewers along as police detectives are called to murder scenes, shadowing authorities as they launch their investigations. Featuring all 11 episodes from the 2008 first season, this three-disc set kicks off with the pilot, “Welcome to Homicide,” in which Richmond, VA detectives look into a homicide involving a body found in the trunk of a car. After an inauspicious beginning, the investigators eventually manage to piece together the facts and solve the crime. In another fine episode, “Blood on the Tracks,” Cleveland, OH detectives work to backtrack the steps of a missing person found dead in a sewage drain in Brookside Park. After an autopsy report proves inconclusive, the case turns cold…until a witness pops up with valuable information. Although it's obvious that Crime 360 manipulates the presentation of events and compresses time to lend dramatic punch to the investigations, this reality-TV forensics series remains compelling throughout and will surely appeal to fans of CSI and similar fare. DVD extras include additional footage. Recommended. (E. Hulse)
