Foyle's War: Set 8

The popular Foyle's War, which debuted on British TV in 2002 as a mystery series set on the home front during World War II, continued after war's end with cool-headed Inspector Foyle (Michael Kitchen) working for the secretive MI5 during the Cold War. This set features the 2015 final three episodes, all scripted by creator Anthony Horowitz, with each mystery offering a fictional take on real-life events and social realities in the post-war era. Foyle cuts through the tangled politics of crimes reaching beyond Britain's borders, aided by his assistant, Sam (Honeysuckle Weeks), and her idealistic Member of Parliament husband, Adam (Daniel Weyman). In "High Castle," the murder of a translator at the Nuremberg war crimes trials leads back to an act of treason in the war. "Trespass" deals with conflicts over the emigration of Jews to Palestine and the rise of a fascist party that stokes anti-immigrant anger in Britain. "Elise" interweaves the story of a conspiracy within the intelligence service (reaching back to the war) with black market activities in the present, ending the series on a note that leaves the door open for another revival.
