The humor sophistication level in this campus comedy—which revolves around the hookups and headaches of rambunctious frat boys and sexy sorority sisters—falls somewhere between Animal House and Saved By the Bell. Greek takes place at fictional Cyprus-Rhodes University, where ambitious social climber Casey Cartwright (Spencer Grammer) juggles two boyfriends—fifth-year slacker Cappie (Scott M. Foster) and handsome frat prez Evan (Jake McDorman)—while trying to avoid her nerdy younger brother Rusty (Jacob Zachar), a freshman determined to join Evan's fraternity. Compiling the first 10 episodes from the 2007 debut season, which aired on the ABC Family channel, Greek has some spicy moments here and there, but by and large this is pretty innocuous stuff, aimed squarely at teens, featuring appealing young principal players who go through their paces with appropriate verve, although none are likely to win acting awards. DVD extras include deleted scenes, audio commentaries, a behind-the-scenes featurette, an extended music sequence, and a sneak peek at “Chapter Two.” Optional. (E. Hulse)
