Perhaps you grew up with the beloved children's television show Sweetknuckle Junction, and spent happy times with train engineer Junction Jack, singing Dottie Sunshine, and Rochester Rabbit and Count Blah. Or maybe not, since the show exists only in the demented, crude, very funny--and short-lived--world of Greg the Bunny. Here are all 13 episodes from the 2002 series (including two unaired), every one a little gem of raunchy, irreverent satire on network television, the care and feeding of kiddie culture, and political correctness. Puppets--excuse me--Fabricated-Americans are the stars here, facing all the same issues as humans: annoying roommates, absent love lives, tedious jobs, and the seductions of fame. But somehow it's just funnier when it's a sock puppet (a derogatory term that I use here from the safety of our parallel universe) complaining that she can't find a good man, or the titular fluffy stuffed bunny acting like a celebrity jerk. The human cast includes Seth Green, in one of the few roles really suited to his quirkiness. Among the numerous bonus features are commentaries, "Puppet Auditions," deleted scenes, Easter eggs, and, er, "Puppet Porn." Recommended (but not for kiddies). (M. Johanson)
