Portrayed by Oscar Kightly (who also co-scripted), the title character of this tough six-part New Zealand crime miniseries is a dedicated police detective trying to rebound from his wife's suicide while facing an alarming escalation in violent crime. Dogged investigative work begins to unravel a pipeline of methamphetamine from Asia to metropolitan Auckland (with an especially fearsome biker gang as middlemen) that has spread like cancer, and Harry even begins to fear for the welfare of his own wounded adolescent daughter. Much of the principle cast in this well-acted and brutal narcotics drama are Maori and likely to be largely unknown to non-Kiwi viewers, although most will recognize international star Sam Neill as a senior detective. Extras include a photo gallery. Recommended. (C. Cassady)
