In the midst of an alien attack, shy adolescent girl Hikaru discovers that she, in fact, is an extraterrestrial with remarkable powers. Sent to Earth (much like the infant Superman) in a spacecraft and adopted by the couple who found her, Hikaru has no idea that she is the last hope of the planet until called into action. The three episodes on this dual-language disc, rated 13-up, deal with Hikaru's many challenges as a surprise superheroine, as well as her efforts to reconcile her destiny with the simple desires of a teenager who likes to shop and pine for a boy at school. The animation is solid if unremarkable (there are many shots in which nothing is moving, but the camera pans over wide scenes, creating an unimpressive impression of action), while the story itself is amiable if also rather run-of-the-anime-mill. DVD extras include an art gallery and trailer. Optional. Aud: P. (T. Keogh)
