Tucked away in the foothills of the Himalayas, the remote paradisiacal kingdom of Bhutan has managed to resist the siren song of mass tourism. Not surprisingly then, when Nathan Hoover and Kris Holm show up on unicycles, the two young men set the country abuzz. Shown on the Outdoor Life Network, Into the Thunder Dragon is an entertaining travel/sports documentary following Hoover and Holm, who have ridden their unicycles down volcanic peaks and across rugged terrain that would stop the best mountain bike, but find that Bhutan presents its own unique challenges with its primitive roads, steep mountains, and high altitudes. DVD extras include a behind-the-scenes documentary, featurettes, deleted scenes, and more. Beautifully filmed and backed by a fine soundtrack, this off-the-beaten track video visit should appeal to armchair travelers, outdoor enthusiasts, and bikers. Recommended. Aud: P. (J. Carlson)
