It's sort of shocking to see how aggressively this manic Comedy Central animated series ridicules the Bush administration and its foibles...if you can call warmongering, embracing torture, and a denial of the existence of evolution “foibles.” The grumbling troll Lil' Cheney not only is Satan's pal but also regularly bites the heads off chickens (and sucks them blood-dry). Watching the antics of Lil' Bush and his lil' posse across these six 2007 first-season episodes is like seeing the Little Rascals with weapons of mass destruction: except that there are only so many jokes about the Iraq quagmire, degradation of the environment, and anti-science attitudes that can be made before it stops being a laughing matter. Sporadically amusing, but not pointed enough to do more than take easy swipes at easy targets, this uncensored edition features unbleeped language, cast and crew commentaries (with special commentary tracks by Ralph Nader, Jerry Springer, and Tucker Carlson), the never-before-seen episode “Walter Reed,” and “Lil' George's White House Tour.” Optional.
