Ashley Judd brought the action-heroine persona that has served her so well on the big screen to network television in this ABC series about ex-CIA agent Becca Winstone, who sprints around Europe trying to rescue her kidnapped teen son, Michael (Nick Eversman). Judd certainly proves herself to be athletically fit as she runs, jumps, and fights her way through a succession of attractive European locales. And as the miles pile up—and Becca is pursued by both villains and government agents—she's joined by an assortment of guest stars, including Keith Carradine and Sean Bean. Meanwhile, Michael escapes from his dastardly captors and makes a dash for safety, with a girl he rescued in tow. Missing is an old-fashioned, plot-heavy spy story, filled with hairbreadth escapes, double- and triple-crosses, and—unfortunately—utter implausibility. But Judd brings lots of maternal and physical intensity to the lead, the locations are gorgeous, and the supporting cast is excellent. Regardless, ABC pulled the plug on the series, so plenty of questions remain at the end of the 10 episodes compiled here from the 2012 single season. Extras include behind-the-scenes featurettes, and deleted scenes. A strong optional purchase. (F. Swietek)
