Those dear Little Sisters of Hoboken are back at Mount Saint Helens School, this time with a "thank-you" concert for the audience who supported them so valiantly in their recent fundraising effort. Bitten by the "theater-flea," the sisters put on a musical showcase ranging from a C&W number to Elvis to a somewhat irreverent duet (á la Charlie McCarthy and Edgar Bergen) by Sister Mary Amnesia and her hand puppet, Sister Mary Annette. Toss-off bits include an advertisement for the "The Catholic Guide to Gift Giving" (with items such as the "Create Your Own Pasta Madonna kit" and "The John the Baptist Party Platter: How to Set Ahead for the Holidays"). Of course, the concert is not without its challenges, as the Franciscans show up to reclaim Sister Mary Amnesia and her Publisher's Clearinghouse Sweepstakes prize money for their own. The performances are top-notch, especially Rue McLanahan (Golden Girls) as Reverend Mother Sister Superior Mary Regina, and Semina Laurentis as Sister Mary Amnesia. If you liked Nunsense (VL-11/97), you'll love the sequel; although be forewarned: the humor is habit forming! Highly recommended. Aud: P. (L. Stevens)
