This hour-long dramedy series about brothers and business partners—Hank Lawson (Mark Feuerstein), a former big city surgeon now making house calls as a concierge doctor in the Hamptons, and Evan (Paulo Costanzo), who manages and promotes the growing business with a mix of professional savvy and amateur enthusiasm—defines the USA Original formula of lightweight storytelling carried by likable leading characters. In the first half of the third season, Henry Winkler returns as Eddie Lawson, Hank and Evan's long-absent father, while Ed Asner is on hand as their estranged grandfather, Ted Roth. The stories here—House-lite medical mysteries that Hank solves with makeshift instruments and Boy Scout ingenuity—play against the rocky family reunion. Campbell Scott provides the show's class act as mysterious aristocrat and Lawson family benefactor Boris, who this season is also a nervous expectant father. Compiling 10 episodes from 2011, DVD extras include an episode commentary, deleted scenes, and a gag reel. A strong optional purchase. (S. Axmaker)
