A flash-animated series created by the French studio Xilam Animation, Shuriken School focuses on the rambunctious students at a ninja academy, particularly a boy named Eizan Kaburagi. While the potentially bone-breaking aspects of ninja education are at the core of the curriculum, there's almost no violence to be found amongst these spunky 10-year-olds, who are more interested in the concepts of teamwork, friendship, and respect. Aired 2006-08 on Nickelodeon and NickToons, Shuriken School—featuring the voice talents of Nathan Kress (iCarly) and Jessica DiCicco (Adventure Time)—serves up rather predictable adventures while teaching worthwhile lessons to youngsters. Compiling all 26 episodes, this is an optional purchase. Aud: P. (P. Hall)
