The Best of Friends

The enormously popular sitcom Friends arrives on DVD in this 2-disc, 10-episode "best of," selected by a poll of fans' favorite episodes. In the event you live under a rock, this always charming and frequently hilarious long-running series follows the escapades of a group of six singletons who do absolutely nothing--but do it with great joie de vivre. My only gripe, though a big one, is Warner's decision (at least so far) not to release the series in full season boxed sets, which we completist fans would much prefer. As for extras, there's nothing to write home about (a couple brief behind-the-scenes promos and the show's theme song music video), but this well-mastered sampler will, if not sate, certainly delight both fans and show newcomers alike.
