Although the "real" in MTV's infamous reality show The Real World is somewhat debatable, its popularity isn't. Celebrating ten years of goofs, blunders and mishaps, The Real World: Decade of Bloopers, hosted by notorious San Francisco cast member Puck (who here wanders around New York, badgering passersby with questions about bodily functions and attempting to burp the alphabet in between clips), primarily focuses on more recent casts (mainly Hawaii, New Orleans and Back to New York), highlighting the bizarre behavior of media-raised twentysomethings. Sections such as "Fan Favorites," "Getting' Nekkid," "Bored," and "The Confessional," exhibit many puerile moments revolving around practical jokes, nudity, and disgusting pranks. The DVD's extras feature bonus bloopers (including my favorite, where show creators Mary-Ellis Bunim and Jonathan Murray are hurled into a nasty hot tub by the San Francisco cast) and stupid outtakes of Puck harassing New Yorkers. While this has exactly zero social redeeming value, the show's popularity warrants consideration for larger collections. Also newly available: The Real World You Never Saw: Chicago. Aud: P. (J. Williams)
