Undefeated Bahamut Chronicle: Complete Collection

A series of novels inspired this fantasy war-adventure with a familiar “harem” vibe and equally familiar mecha battles. Five years previously, a corrupt Arcadia Empire was overthrown, mostly thanks to warrior maidens piloting “Drag-Knights” fighting suits. Now Lux, the boy prince of the deposed kingdom, embarrassingly intrudes on the Drag-Knights girls at their academy—seeing their alpha-princess Liseharte nude in the communal bath. Lux straightaway vanquishes a marauder (and he knows Liseharte's family secret thanks to the tattoo brand on her body), and then enrolls as a student in the all-female school. Lux finds himself surrounded by curvy action-girls, as evil royals and insurgents seek to control remnants of the empire. Given the premise, Undefeated Bahamut Chronicle features less than expected near-nudity and fan service. Compiling all 12 episodes from 2016 in separate Blu-ray and DVD editions, rated TV-MA, and presented in Japanese with English subtitles, this is a strong optional purchase. (C. Cassady)
