As if the original Scooby-Doo series from the late 1960s and early ‘70s weren't already a poor enough example of pointless cartoonery—not to mention a blight on the collective childhood memory of Generation X—this 2002-03 revival serves up more of canine Scooby-Doo's lame antics with Shaggy, Velma, Daphne, and Fred, those iconic meddling kids who stick their noses into haunted abandoned ski jumps and haunted abandoned roller coasters and haunted abandoned…well, you get the picture…where it's always a guy in a mask (in one way or another) who's responsible for the mild bad deeds that initially prompt the gang's amateur sleuthing. Compiling all 13 episodes (plus one that never aired) from the first season, this double-disc set includes DVD extras such as “bloopers” and “outtakes” that are just as inane as the show itself. Not recommended. (M. Johanson)
