Oral histories of veterans who served in World War II are becoming increasingly valuable as their ranks continue to thin. The simply-named Wisconsin WWII Stories features interviews with veterans and family members alike, chronicling the hardships endured by both, and offering viewers a first-hand account of life during the most horrible world war in history. Featuring four hour-long segments, the overall effect of the war on Wisconsin is described in "Struggle," while "Europe" and "Pacific" cover specific battles in those two theaters (supplemented with archival photography), and the last segment, "Home Front," depicts the sacrifices that family members made at home to help the war effort. Wisconsin has done its veterans proud in this fine series that preserves their stories for generations to come while also offering these former soldiers one final chance to relive life-altering events. A must for regional collections, this is also recommended for larger WWII collections. Aud: C, P. (J. Carlson)
