This second season opener features four new episodes revolving around the popular battling card-player Yugi, his sidekicks, and enemies--old and new. In the titular two-parter, Yugi, who has bonded with his ghostly doppelganger--the “Spirit” living inside his Millennium Puzzle--foolishly gives the puzzle to a fortune-teller and must battle a mysterious duelist to get it back. Later, Ishisu Ishtar reveals to Marik that the origins of the game go back to ancient Egypt, and Tea and "Spirit" Yugi take on Johnny Steps in both a dancing arcade game and a card duel. Presented in the “edited” U.S. televised version (with an English audio track only), DVD extras include a music video, a duelist character gallery, and a short animatic (an animatic is like a pencil rendition of an episode to help the animators develop the plot in real time). Not rated, but suitable for 7-up, this is recommended for those collecting Yu-Gi-Oh and optional elsewhere. [Note: Yu-Gi-Oh! Battle City Duels, Obelisk the Tormentor, Vol. 2; The ESP Duelist, Vol. 3; The Master of Magicians, Vol. 4; Mime Control, Vol. 5 and Double Duel, Vol. 6 are also available.] Aud: P. (J. Halsall)
