Teacher Emily and her enthusiastic class show viewers how to create lots of fun things, including animals, using only four basic shapes in this “draw-along” program suitable for children ages 3 and up. Emily demonstrates her technique with a step-by-step approach, while the kids add their own creative touches with markers and crayons to the fish, dog, bird, monkey, and dinosaur figures they learn to draw. In between each lesson, Emily's animal transforms into a bright, bold animation (created by Brad Ableson of The Simpsons), which then is featured in an original song (composed by Peter Scaturro), with live-action footage of that creature (except for the friendly dinosaur) rounding out the presentation. Colorful, fast-paced, and featuring a diverse group of energetic kids and lots of cute critters, Art House is great for both classroom and home use. Highly recommended. Aud: K, E, P. (E. Gieschen)
