Baby Van Gogh

Vincent Van 'Goat' hosts this colorful look at toys, nature, and people, aimed at babies, and set to the music of Bizet, Rossini, Strauss, Ravel, and other classical greats. With its non-linear format, featuring images grouped by color (red puppets, strawberries, red flowers, spinning red tops, etc.) accompanied by Vincent "painting" one of Van Gogh's works highlighting the color, a short poem about "red," and the word appearing on the screen, toddlers can make associations that are both fun and educational. In addition to "red," the program also explores yellow, green, orange, purple, and blue in a lyrical and charming manner. An accompanying book repeats the poems and paintings, allowing parents to reinforce the ideas on the video. A lovely, gentle, truly useful program, this is highly recommended. Aud: P. (E. Druda)
