Miles Peterson isn't Superman, but he's a superhero, inspired by God and equipped with unyielding faith to fight evil as Bibleman, in this live-action series. In The Fiendish Works of Dr. Fear, our hero, along with his sidekick Coats and his computer U.N.I.C.E., faces the challenge of his life. His nemesis, Dr. Fear, has sabotaged an anti-drug campaign by putting mind warping receptors into the "Clean is Cool" buttons worn by Curt, the captain of the junior high basketball team, and even Bibleman himself. Using his evil computer L.U.C.I., Dr. Fear works on their deepest fears, but while Bibleman initially wavers, he eventually wields his flashing sword of spirit and parries with his best biblical wisdom to send the bad doctor to his just rewards. The episode concludes with Bibleman reminding viewers that Jesus will see them through their difficulties but they need to have a relationship with him. ("If you want to ask God into your heart, speak to your parents or pastor. Then you can put on full armor. God bless.") Action packed, responsible, relevant, and best of all, intelligent, the Bibleman adventures are intended for younger viewers, but adults will find humor in the dialogue and wisdom in the message as well. Highly recommended. Other recent titles in the series include: Silencing the Gossip Queen, Six Lies of the Fibber and Shattering the Prince of Pride. Aud: P. (J. Reed)
