Adhering to the fatigued Disney animation formula of an orphan--in this case a prehistoric iguanodon named Aladar (voice of D.B. Sweeney)--finding his way in the world with the help of sidekicks--in this case a family of goofball lemurs--Dinosaur follows a migrating mixed herd of dinos on a cross-continent trek to their nesting grounds. Along the way they encounter challenges from within (a hard-driving bellicose leader) and without (predator raptors and carnotaurs), but except for the huge visual payoff of arguably the most amazing and expressive computer-rendered creatures ever, there's nothing much memorable about this middling movie. Still, given the sell-through price and the likely demand, you'll probably want to pick up a few copies. (R. Blackwelder)
