Couscous the wisecracking, pith helmet-wearing monkey, along with teddy bear puppets Chef Beary Good and Sprinkle, show youngsters how bread, peanut butter, apple juice, baby carrots, and cheese get from the farm to the lunchbox in the health-conscious Food Safari: Lunch. No doubt the nutritional facts will be of little interest to most kids, but the actual tours of the food processing factories are very good (most children love to see machines at work, and here they'll even get a chance to see how Wonder Bread is made!). In an age where childhood obesity is at an all-time high, inspiring healthy eating habits in children is a laudable goal, making this solid inexpensive nutrition title for preschool age children welcome (parents and caregivers will just have to grit their teeth and sing along with these silly puppets that give Barney a run for his money in cloyingly saccharine pseudo-charm).
