Although for moi, “Tubby bye, bye” never comes fast enough, little ones in the know will go gaga over Go!: Exercise with the Teletubbies, set in the faraway land where windmill-propelled magic sparkly stuff fills the air and a giggling sun-baby shines down on all--including Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa and Po, who get their technological baby butts in gear with this 70-minute program. Shiny loudspeakers give the Tubbies the “ready, set, go!” mantra of the day, a precursor for simple exercise moves such as “stretch up high,” “up and down,” “jumping,” “side to side,” and “stand up, sit down.” Standing on one leg, skipping, and marching might not seem that difficult, but the skills are right on target for the pre-K and kindergarten-aged kids who are shown exercising with the Teletubbies (who congratulate hard work with big hugs). In addition, the program features the “Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes” song (with live-action footage of participants, including a policemen, soccer team, and group of firefighters, chiming in) and a segment about imitation (the Tubbies copy each other and their vacuum buddy the Noo Noo). DVD features include two additional segments--“Twirling Batons” and “Supposed to Be Asleep--and previews. Sure to be popular, this easygoing program is standard Teletubbies fare and is recommended.
