Splish, splash, splosh! HIT Entertainment's newest Nick Jr.-aired series for tykes takes viewers into the tub, happily following the escapades of the Rubbadubbers, a merry group of bath time toys. Featuring vibrant animation, bouncy music, and a cheery British voice cast, this five-episode compilation includes fun formulaic adventures in which the seven characters--Tubb, Sploshy, Terence, Finbar, Winona, Amelia, and Reg--experience moral dilemmas, “imagine” what things would be like with the wrong choice (in the form of a thought-bubble daydream vignette), realize their mistakes, and snap out of their reveries ready to make amends. “Train Driver Tubb,” for instance, finds frog Tubb being pushy and taking all the tasks during a train game, but later realizing he would achieve much better results through teamwork; while in “Scary Finbar,” the titular shark goes overboard scaring everyone--even himself. Presenting gentle ethical messages regarding tolerant and fair behavior, Here Come the Rubbadubbers! is a nice new title for the preschool set, and one that is swimmingly recommended. [Note: Tubb's Pirate Treasure is also newly available at the same prices.] Aud: K, P. (J. Williams)
