The computer-animated adventures of children's TV favorite Jay Jay the Jet Plane and his mostly mechanical Tarrytown comrades continue in this holiday-themed five-episode compilation. In "Snuffy's Thanksgiving," the gang reflects on the holiday's true meaning, while working together to guide Big Jake through a snowstorm. Snow also figures prominently in the two-part "Jay Jay's Christmas Adventure," which finds the friends making Christmas preparations (Snuffy picks out a tree, Herky and Tracy are on a mission to meet Santa in person, and Jay Jay is incessantly amending his gift wish list), until a Christmas Eve snowstorm threatens to ruin their plans; and in "Jay Jay's Winter Parade," in which big parade plans are initially nixed by a blizzard, but salvaged by Jay Jay's resourceful Tarrytown friends. In the final episode, "Snuffy's Seasons," Snuffy (and young viewers) learn how to keep the four seasons straight. Sporting excellent animation, likable songs, and a comical cast of characters, this sure to be popular yuletide DVD treat is recommended. [Note: DVD extras include sing-alongs and "Think About" learning segments on the moon and the sun.] Aud: K, P. (J. Williams)
