Containing four 13-minute programs designed to teach children how their ears work, how to care for their ears, how to be a good listener, and how they learn by identifying sounds, each of the segments on the Listening to Learn DVD combines live action, middling animation and song to present the information. Simple concepts are creatively presented and the topic focus is maintained throughout the segment, with a review included at the end of each section. The easily navigated menus feature selections for the full segment or a brief overview. Although the K-2 set will no doubt find this program entertaining and educational, I would have expected a lot more for the nearly $600 sticker price. Still, this is a cute program that will be useful in early health science curriculums, making it a strong optional purchase for those without similar fare. Aud: K, E. (L. Stevens)
