Author Lauren Thompson narrates this three-story compilation based on the children's picture books illustrated by Derek Anderson. Little Quack (2003) introduces viewers to Mama and her five ducklings—Widdle, Waddle, Piddle, Puddle, and the titular mischievous cutie—as she coaxes them out of the nest to swim. Little Quack's Hide and Seek (2004) finds the family engaging in the titular game, with Little Quack discovering the perfect place to hide. And in Little Quack's New Friend (2006), Quack befriends a green frog named Ribbit after his duckling siblings act like jerks (calling the amphibian too little, too green, etc.). Also featuring a “Count Along with the Quack-U-Lator” segment (using the ducks to teach basic addition and subtraction) and an audio-only conversation with Thompson (who talks about the links between her stories and childhood experiences such as learning to swim and making different types of friends), this is recommended. Aud: K, P. (J. Williams-Wood)
