A new entry in PBS's acclaimed children's programming lineup, Mustard Pancakes is a Canadian-American co-production featuring Courtney Campbell and her four puppet pets (three dogs and a token cat), who live together in a cheerful house. Campbell plays her guitar, sings, and tells stories about growing up with her brother, while the puppets recreate the narrated events. The original pilot (in which Courtney's brother tricks her by replacing the pancake syrup with mustard) is included as a bonus to the main program featuring three episodes: “See How the Garden Grows,” “Oogleberry Ink Dog,” and “Tongue Twister.” A high-quality production that airs on over 200 PBS stations in the U.S., Mustard Pancakes serves up solid child guidance lessons, cheery songs, and loads of fun. Highly recommended. Aud: K, E, P. (R. Reagan)
