The video field trip format assumes a certain interest level in some thing (e.g., trains), or some place (the zoo/farm/circus), and then tries to satisfy that interest with edutainment. In fact, the producer of this title is quoted as saying "Children...want to know everything [about newspapers]--where the paper comes from, how a reporter gets the information, how the paper rolls off the presses." While I'm not entirely convinced that kids have an overriding interest in how ink is manufactured, at the end of this video, children will be able to describe the newspaper production process. An inexpensive, if not terribly entertaining overview, this is an optional purchase. Other titles in the series include Milk & Cookies (VL-3/97) and Bats & Balls (VL-7/98). Aud: K, E, P. (J. Cichewicz)
