A wildly clever and consistently funny kiddie-fare gross-out comedy (snot jokes galore), the Farrelly brothers' Osmosis Jones may be live-action on the outside--Bill Murray plays Frank, a zoo janitor who gets sick from eating a soft-boiled egg after dropping it in a monkey cage (eww!)--but the bulk of the story takes place inside his body: a weird animated world where Chris Rock provides the voice of the title character, an impudent white blood cell who teams up with a 12-hour cold pill (David Hyde Pierce) to defeat the deadly virus (Laurence Fishburne) that rode in on the egg. Murray's innards are colorfully and energetically brought to cartoon life as a biological metropolis with blood vessel freeways, a cerebellum city hall and plenty of opportunities to comically turn stomachs. Since half the jokes are aimed over the heads of kids (who will be laughing themselves silly at the bodily function gags), this one really is fun for everyone--or at least everyone who can handle the delightfully disgusting. Recommended. (R. Blackwelder)
